New Survey Asks Parents to Share Thoughts on Eagle View

Do you have some thoughts on how Eagle View communicates with parents/guardians? Ideas for ways the school can help support you in your parenting efforts? Please share those ideas by taking this survey. The survey responses are anonymous - so please be candid with your feedback. Please complete only one survey per family (using either the paper version sent home in the Wednesday envelopes, or the online version) by May 28th. Contact Principal Patty Granada with any questions.

Enter our June Box Tops/Campbells Labels Contest

Save your Box Tops and Campbells labels and turn them in for a chance to win a freeze pop party for your class (the class that turns in the most labels wins). We will also have one drawing for a Target gift card, and 24 student will receive goody bags. Please turn in your labels by Wednesday, June 16th - you can use this collection sheet (Excel) or put your labels in a bag. Be sure to include your name and grade on your submission. Shoppers and Volunteers Needed for Scholastic Book Fair

Our Scholastic Book Fair will take place on April 16-21 - this is a great opportunity to purchase high quality books at reasonable prices, so please mark your calendars. In addition, we need parent volunteers to help with set up, book sales, and take down; if you have a few hours, please consider helping out.

Author Greg Tang's Visit to be Rescheduled

Author Greg Tang's March 26th visit to Eagle View has unfortunately been cancelled because Mr. Tang was injured and unable to travel. We hope to reschedule his visit some time in the near future. In the meantime, we will return any money received by Mrs. Cortes for the purchase of books; it will be sent home with your child.

Come to Eagle View's Free Movie Night

Enter our February Box Tops Contest

For February's drawing, turn in 10 box tops to receive an entry into 1 of our 3 drawings. Volunteers Needed for School Committees

Eagle View has a series of academic, life skills, and community responsibility committees that help guide the school in addressing these topics. While the committees are made up primarily of school staff, we would also like to include a parent on each committee as well. Are you available to serve on a committee? More information

Spring Chess Club Registration Deadline Extended

Due to the large number of snow days recently, we have extended the chess club registration deadline for the spring semester - completed registration forms and checks are now due by Wednesday, February 10th. More information (pdf)

Time to Order your 2009-2010 Eagle View Spirit Wear

Available for staff, families, and EV students, the PTA and student council are now taking orders for 2009-2010 Eagle View spirit wear, including tshirts, sweatshirts, and more. Purchasing and wearing spirit wear is a great way to show your school spirit, and participate in an important school-wide fundraiser.

Orders are due by Friday, January 29th; please send your order form (pdf) and check to school with your child in a sealed envelope labeled "PTA - Spirit Wear." More information (pdf)

EV Student Art Featured in Fairfax Connection

Congratulations to Cassidy Ta, Kimberly Thai, Apurva Shrestha, Daniel Shin, and Shinwon Do - Eagle View 4th and 5th graders who recently had their art work featured in one of our local newspapers, the Fairfax Connection! More information (pdf)

Volunteers Needed for Winter Band, Strings, and Art Showcase

Eagle View's Fine Arts department is looking for parent volunteers and EV middle school alumni to help out with "The Big Chill" - Eagle View's winter band, chorus, and art showcase. The show will take place at 7PM on Thursday, January 14th. Do you have an hour or two to help us out? It's a great way for middle school alumni to earn community service hours. More information

Enter our December Box Tops Contest

Save your box tops, and earn a sweet treat during December! This month, everyone who turns in 10 box tops will receive a candy cane. If you turn in 20 box tops, you will receive goody bag containing a pencil, stickers, eraser, and a candy cane - plus we'll enter you into a drawing for a Toys R Us gift card.

Did you know that EV can receive a percentage of your purchases from online retailers such as Target, Walmart, and Old Navy?
